Background

As a folow-up to the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) Programme of Action, Malaysia in collaboration with UNFPA have identified various  strategies, for a broader service approach and viable linkages between existing service system. Some of these strategies have been undertaken with the support from UNFPA through the implementation of past and on-going projects concerning reproductive health.

The MAL/03/P04 Project : South-South Cooperation in Reproductive Health (RH) in Malaysia, seeks to further contribute to improve reproductive health status of families, men, women and adolescents. This 2 year project is aimed at increasing the utilization of reproductive health services through knowledge and experience sharing within as well as among countries. It is also aimed at strengthening the capacity of the agencies, within the South East Asia region and other countries as well, particularly to organise, manage and monitor broader, integrated reproductive health services/activities.

  2. To identify the relevant content of the training workshop on RH and gender issues.
  3. To share gender analysis tools and best practices, particularly including men as partners
  4. To develop an advocacy plan for mainstreaming gender into sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) policies and programmes.
